👋 Hey Product Hunt! I’m Adrian, the dev behind ScrollGuard. Some of you might remember the Android launch. After seeing how much it helped people take back control of their scroll time, I decided to bring it to iOS.

The Problem

Same as before: you open Instagram to reply to a DM and 45 minutes later you’re deep in Reels. Social media apps are designed to trap you, and willpower alone doesn’t cut it.

What ScrollGuard Does on iOS

📵 Blocks Reels & Shorts

Open YouTube or Instagram normally. DMs, posts, profiles all work fine. But Reels and Shorts? Gone.

🧹 Hides Algorithmic Feeds

Remove the main feed, suggested content, and other engagement traps. Keep the parts you actually came for.

⚙️ Granular Control

Choose exactly what to block per platform. Want to keep Instagram Stories but hide Reels? Done. Want YouTube without Shorts but keep your subscriptions? You got it.

🔒 Private

Everything happens on your device. No data leaves your phone.

Why I Built the iOS Version

The Android version showed me this isn’t a niche problem. Thousands of people want to use social media without the addictive parts. iOS users kept asking for it, so here it is.

It’s a different approach than the Android version since each platform has its own challenges, but the philosophy is the same: remove the scroll traps, keep the social.

I’m building this based on real feedback, so I’d love to hear: what platforms or features should I tackle next, Chrome?
