This is truely awesome! The drag-and-drop scheduling sounds like a lifesaver for anyone dealing with complex shift patterns – so much better than clunky spreadsheets, right? I'm especially interested in how it handles leave requests and integrations – does it sync up with payroll software, by any chance?
@mujoe Leave requests are built straight into Rostermate. Employees apply for leave directly from the Rostermate mobile app on their phones, managers can approve requests in just a couple of clicks, and once approved, the leave automatically appears on the roster. This means you are instantly flagged if someone is unavailable on certain days, so you never accidentally roster someone who is away.
We also support shift swapping, which is especially useful for last minute situations like sickness. Staff can offer a shift to another employee, and you can choose whether swaps require manager approval or can happen automatically. This is fully configurable depending on how you run your business.
On the integrations side, yes. We integrate directly with Xero Payroll and iPayroll via API, so timesheets flow through seamlessly. For other systems like PayHero, we provide clean CSV exports that map directly to their import formats. These are the most common payroll platforms we see in New Zealand, which is why we focused on them first.
Rostermate has also now evolved into a full payroll system itself. This means many of our clients no longer need to pay for or manage two separate systems. Rostermate can handle rostering, leave, timesheets, and payroll all in one place.
When someone signs up for a free trial, we always ask which payroll system they are currently using. If we see enough demand for another integration, it goes straight onto our roadmap.
Happy to show you how the full workflow works if you would like a quick demo.
