Hi! Today we’re introducing Ridelist, a place to manage and find bicycle rides with others. We’ve noticed that cycling clubs, advocacy groups, even local bike shops organize rides using a wide variety of generic event management tools or, worse, plain text on a website. This makes publishing AND discovering those rides hard. Ridelist is tailored specifically to the needs of cyclists managing or looking for rides; useful ride information like distance, pace, elevation, route, all need to be provided so the cyclist can determine if the ride matches their abilities, interest, or goals. As a cyclist and ride organizer @danallan had been frustrated with what’s available in this space. So he teamed up with me, @mutahhir and we built something for this niche. We’d love to hear feedback on what features clubs, groups, shops, or any other organization would need to make this the one-stop shop for group rides. Thanks for looking!

Very cool! Are you thinking a Meetup-like RSVP functionality as well? I'm a runner, not a cyclist (boo! hiss! i know), and when I've tried to organize public events before, my biggest problem has been that everyone wants to attend that Saturday morning run when they're in the cubicle on Wednesday but not so much when they're in bed Saturday morning haha
@casey_woolfolk We do have the concept of ride registration today! The button is available on upcoming public events but can be turned off by the event owner, so not all events will show it. Registrants can optionally provide additional information like their own phone number (in case of separation), an emergency contact, and a description of their bike to help the ride leader easily identify riders. Life does happen (like needing to sleep in on a Saturday), so there's also an easy way to cancel the registration! And though we're currently focused on the niche of group bicycle rides, who knows, perhaps the idea will grow enough to make Runlist a reality in the future too 🔮
