Love Retro's vibe. It's slow social — with a heap of intimacy thrown in.

Wow! I really like this! It looks like my handbook album! I could put all my good memories of the year 2023 in this!

Thanks for hunting this update @chrismessina! I'm the co-founder of Retro, and the team and I are psyched to share some big updates for Retro today: 1) Android. Retro is dedicated to being the best place to catch up with family and friends, and a big part of that is connecting with friends across the world on both iOS and Android. When you open Android, you'll find all the craft and care that people have recognized in our iOS app. 2) Recaps. The new Recaps feature creates a beautiful slideshow of your favorite moments from 2023, and then helps you share it to places like Instagram. You can also create recaps for any week or month of the year - perfect for the end-of-month photo dump trend that’s pervasive on Instagram and TikTok. 3) Postcards. The new Postcards feature prints and ships your photos as postcards to anyone in the world. The aim is to make it as easy to send a physical photo as it is to send a digital photo. Postcards are free through the holidays (while supplies last) so that you can send holiday greetings, 2023 Recaps, or any other moments that will make friends smile when they get them in the mail. Photo Postcards will 4) Global Expansion. Retro is now available to everyone worldwide. Retro is all about helping you make the most of the photos and videos that you're already capturing. It's true that other social apps have become more about entertainment than connection over time, crowding out posts from friends, but the real thing that we're working against is that feeling of being too busy or overwhelmed to actively reflect and share moments you want to remember each week. When this happens, not only do you lose touch with friends, but time passes by in a blur. We will have succeeded if Retro can play even a small role in changing that. We put a lot of care into these updates, and we hope you love them. Say hi to us at hello@retro.app - we love hearing from you.
