I wanted a calmer way to journal. Most tools I tried either felt too noisy, too rigid, or quickly turned into another app I felt guilty about not using. I wanted something that simply made it easier to sit down and think. The biggest problem wasn’t journaling itself — it was consistency. I wanted a private space that didn’t overwhelm me, didn’t push a social feed, and didn’t force “insights” before I was ready. Just writing first, with gentle guidance when it helps. Early versions had more features than necessary. Through feedback and iteration, I stripped it back to the essentials: writing, reflection, and optional AI insights that stay out of the way unless you invite them in. Privacy and simplicity became the core. Reflekto is free to start, simple by design, and built with privacy first.
