If no opponent is available, bot fallback ensures matches start instantly.

Hey everyone 👋 I’ve always liked competitive systems like chess ladders where skill progression is visible and measurable. But when it came to quizzes, most platforms felt casual — you play a round and move on. I wanted to experiment with something different: what if knowledge worked like a rating? You win, it goes up. You lose, it drops. Over time, you see real progression. That’s how Quizzer started. The first live mode, Mind Arena, focuses on fast, head-to-head matches with rating adjustments after every game. I also built in bot fallback so players aren’t stuck waiting if no opponent is online — something that’s especially important early on. Under the hood it’s built with Next.js on the frontend, Django on the backend, Redis (with Lua scripts) for match resolution logic, WebSockets for real-time play, and PostgreSQL for persistence.
