PutFile.dev

File uploads without buckets, policies, or cloud setup

PutFile.dev lets developers upload files to cloud storage with one line of code. No buckets to create. No AWS configuration. Just call the API, upload the file, and get back a key you can store and use anywhere. Behind the scenes, PutFile.dev securely uploads files directly to S3 using temporary signed URLs — so your servers never touch the file, and you don’t deal with credentials or infra. It’s built for: backend-first APIs MVPs and internal tools apps that just need uploads to work

Hey Product Hunt 👋 I’m the maker of PutFile.dev. I built this after repeatedly hitting the same problem: I just wanted to upload a file and get a key — but every time I ended up setting up buckets, IAM policies, CORS rules, and SDK configs. PutFile.dev removes all of that. You create an API, use the SDK, and upload files with one line of code. The file goes directly to cloud storage using secure, temporary URLs, and you get back a simple key to work with. This is an early MVP and currently free — I’m mostly looking for feedback: Is this something you’d use? What would make you trust it in production? What’s missing for your workflow? Happy to answer any questions and hear honest feedback. Thanks for checking it out 🙌
