Prava app is for friends to discover trip ideas, discuss on them, develop an itinerary, split costs and share the travel memories in the form of photos & blogs - keeping all of this to themselves in the group. After a trip, they also have the option to publish their trip experience to the Prava community - which becomes a trip idea for others!

One of the worst onboardings, directly skipped it. And I am really interested in the travel sector, working on a product there aswell. The thing is: First step is to agree to T&C. I don't have any thoughts on the app until then, this is the very first step I have to do when using your app and your brand. The second step, without knowing why, is asking for my mobile phone number. You really, in my opinion, need to work on the onboarding. You will loose a lot of customers there you acquire for a lot of money. I would recommend to show the benefits of the app first, let the user do a first entry for example (my next trip should go to...) so he is already invested. Maybe let him invite some friends. I don't see any need you need to have my mobile number for this. The T&C don't need to be so prominent, maybe combine them with a signup or combine them with the notifications. That, by the way, was the very first thing that came right up. Forgot about that, even worse. Just my 2 cents, hope it helps. Good luck guys, will test it as soon as I don't have to enter these things.

@kivilicom Appreciate your time & effort in contributing to this listing. We are glad you voiced your thoughts. Unless one has transferred the app package directly to the device & installed it, we feel the app stores have invested a lot in terms of providing insight into what the user is getting into. Specific to Prava, there is no 'caveat emptor'...there is a link which explains why user has to provide the phone number even before the user has to enter it. The rationale behind this is that friends always travel with their contacts and the contact sync which happens in the user's device will avoid the traveler the hassle of adding cumbersome user-ids, names & handles... not to mention saving the user the trouble from logging-in / out. We are pretty happy with the install-to-registration metric till now. That said, we are always on top of user development and rationalizing the feedback - yours is logged in as well! Cheers! - Venky, Founder @pravaapp

How does this compare to Travefy? --That's my go to for trip planning and itinerary building.
Baragur Venkatesha
@adamlaz Thank you for contributing to this listing! Appreciate it... Travefy is an inspiration. Prava app is more aimed at the casual traveler going out on fun trips with friends. It helps friends stay on the same page - be it while chatting, developing the itinerary, sharing photos, sharing expenses, sharing notes in one simple, neat place. And, the app also satisfies their urge to let the world know of the trip experience & to discover others experiences. We are constantly on top of user development and have lined up more in terms of bringing travelers closer. Watch out! Cheers! - Venky, Founder @pravaapp

This would probably be a lot more useful if it had a web component.
Baragur Venkatesha
@shimmb Appreciate your point of view Simon. Our approach was to first address the market in terms of convenience & trends - hence we have Prava on Android and iOS... Web component coming sooner than you think :) Cheers! - Venky, Founder @pravaapp

What's the core incentive for me as a traveler to use and share this with friends? How is it 10x as good as simply doing what I do now (FB, Twitter, email, text)? If there's one thing I've learned working on startups in travel vertical the last few years, it's all about incentive alignment. Who has such a large pain point, that they are going to pound down your doors to solve it (and share the hell out of it)?
Baragur Venkatesha
@drewmeyers "what I do now (FB, Twitter, email, text)?" Exactly Drew... Let me add more to that list - trip review sites, chat apps, expense split apps, Personal travel blogs... So, a group of friends traveling together, experiencing the same things together currently have those experiences in multiple silos while planning & making the same trip. Prava aims to bridge this gap by providing a common platform for friends who are traveling together, who are experiencing the trip together, to keep those experiences in one place instead of in silos. Time saved; effort saved; plus a couple of months down the line, any of the friends' can fire up Prava and get the complete trail of who started the idea, how did we arrive at the places / dates, what did we see & do, how much did we spend, and optionally - who did we inspire with our experience, what doubts did we clarify them about the places, etc. Of course, a common platform for sharing experiences is just a start... eventually Prava aims to unlock value for groups in terms of booking experiences, stay experiences, food experiences and other areas. Appreciate your point of view and we constantly seek to evolve the incentive alignment. Thank you :)
