Every Portrait is a personal micro-website—it’s yours to design, publish, and own—forever. Unlike social media, Portrait is powered by people, not platforms. You host your friends and they host you. Together, you keep each other's data online.

i'm Ryan, co-founder of Portrait.
Portrait lets anyone create and host micro-websites—called Portraits—without platforms, servers, or gatekeepers. think of it like a social web powered by torrenting (it's a close analogy), where you truly own your digital presence.
we started building Portrait because we believe the web should be owned by its users again—not by platforms. after two years of building this version, today we’re excited to finally share it with you.
Portrait is built on top of peer-to-peer networks like libp2p with a set of smart contracts, combined with decentralized storage protocols.
with Portrait, you can:
• create your own page (no coding needed)
• host it yourself with a lightweight app
• truly own your content and identity
many are hesitant of the crypto/blockchain space, and often they're right. we've been building Portrait since 2021, and there is no Portrait token or coin. our protocol is open source, you can learn more about it here.
