Pocket Chef

Hello Product Hunt! 👋 A little bit of a backstory about pocket chef, hope I don't bore you. To save myself the hassle of looking through multiple blogs and YouTube videos for the perfect recipe to classic dishes, I started using chat gpt for recipe generation. However, I felt limited by the ability to save and organize chats on Chat GPT and would often lose the perfect recipe, only to yet again rely on my memory to prompt engineer a suitable recipe for a "soft but eggless chocolate cake". Being an engineer by profession, I determined that the best way to solve this problem was to build an app powered by AI to generate and save recipes. But why stop at just saving recipes? Adding the ability to meal plan and create grocery lists right from saved recipes was a fairly easy engineering challenge with tremendous value addition (at least, my mom agrees). There are some more ideas for the app I would love to explore, such as editing recipes, creating your own public kitchen, and building a following to share your favorite recipes. Before I go down that rabbit hole, however, I would love to get your feedback. I genuinely believe this idea has the potential to transform how people cook but the first step towards reaching that vision is to find out how you feel. Interesting concept. The interface is pretty good overall. A few things: if I were going to use something like this I would want an onboarding experience. You list dietary restrictions, but for someone like me...I'm trying to target certain Macros (160gs of protein a day, and about 2000 calories a day) and try to plan meals around that. Second thing is who is this really for, why would I choose AI over Thomas Keller or a chef I already know? I would be more interested in AI meal planning. Third thing is the shopping cart doesn't consolidate items. I.e. I put in two recipes for mint and added it twice and it was 2 separate entries. I know that's some data manipulation on the backend, but from a shopping perspective not ideal. I do LOVE the fact though that it links back to the recipe though.
