Hi Product Hunt! 👋 I’m Thomas, founder of Playlistation. Like I’m sure many of you Indie Hackers do, I have a ‘projects’ folder full of half-finished (or half-started?) side projects. However, I’m proud to say that this one actually made it to release! 👩‍🚀 The problem I created Playlistation to solve a personal frustration: manually sorting tracks into multiple playlists every time I liked a song on Spotify—like “French rap,” “2024 Highlights,” or “Liked Recently”—and keeping them updated. 🌟 The solution Playlistation automates this process. It lets you create smart playlists with filters based on artist, genre, release date, bpm, and more. It scans your library and automatically updates your playlists with new tracks that match your filters and removes tracks that you’ve deleted from your library. 🚀 It’s really easy to get started 1. Go to the Playlistation website and log in with Spotify 2. Choose from the suggested playlists or create one from scratch 3. You’re done! Playlistation will then monitor your library (your liked tracks) and keep your playlists up to date 🔄 💬 Your feedback is valuable! As I’ve learned from talking to others, everyone has their own specific way of managing their music library. Some people have thousands of liked tracks in total chaos or meticulously organized, while others only listen to specific albums or public playlists and save just a few tracks. That’s why your feedback is so important to me! My goal with this app is to help people organize their music libraries. So, even if this tool doesn’t seem to meet your exact needs, I’d love to hear how you discover new tracks, how you save them, and what playlists you’re using (genres, occasions like “party” or “sport,” specific sub-sets of artists, etc.).

I've been using Playlistation as a beta tester for a few months now, and it works really well! So far, I have a playlist for a specific artist, a style, and my likes for the last three months. Once the playlists are set up, you never have to interact with them again. Honestly it's worth the shot if you have a lot of liked songs in your library

Thank you @danny_vydev! Your feedbacks during the beta were very helpful 🙏

congrats on the launch! Really fun idea. I feel like you could really tap into the love of "Unwrapped" with this, people love weird insights and recommendations based on what they've been listening to. I was going to try it but I've forgotten my Spotify password so will have to get back to you with more feedback 😂

@jonnymiles Accurate recommendations are indeed very useful, but Spotify is already doing it with the weekly radar and various other suggestions. That's why I focused on helping user organize their liked tracks and not discovering new ones. But with enough users, it could be possible to match users likes with others with similar taste and evolve the product so it also suggests new tracks!
