Pillars

Simplifying politics

Pillars is a new way to understand politics without the noise. We take dense bills, confusing government sites, and scattered political info and turn them into simple summaries, clear ESPN-style politician profiles, and fast tools to take action like registering to vote, finding your polling place, and more, all free: no news, no bias, no algorithms pushing an agenda. Just verified facts in one place.

I built Pillars because I kept seeing the same problem among my classmates, friends, and young people, including myself. We cared about politics, but the information we needed was scattered, confusing, and mixed with biased news or AI misinformation. Any time I tried to understand a bill or a politician, I ended up bouncing between TikToks, government sites, and posts that all said different things. It should not be this hard to get the facts. The problem I set out to solve was simple: give voters one place where political information is clear, trustworthy, and easy to act on. As we started building, our approach changed a lot based on real user interviews. We realized people did not just want information. They needed it explained in plain language, delivered quickly, and connected to tools that help them take real action. That shaped everything from how we summarize bills to how our civic tools work. What started as a simple idea turned into a full platform built around how we actually learn and engage.
