Hi, I'm Tomohiko Saitoh, a solo developer in Japan. I also made Reversi NEXT, CakeLog, Mosaic Camera Pro, and Shift Calendar & Alarm. PickFace exists because turning one group photo into individual portraits used to mean opening an editor and cropping each face by hand. Vision detects faces well on a single subject, but one pass over a crowded photo still misses the small or distant ones. PickFace scans in tiles instead, checking the photo more than once, so those faces get picked up too. Each one is auto-straightened - sideways or upside-down included - then composed into a yearbook grid, the original photo with faces, or a simple grid. I kept it detection-only on purpose: it locates where faces are in the one photo you hand it, never who they belong to, and no biometric data is created. The app doesn't read your photo library, and it makes no network calls of its own - the only outside connection is the ad SDK on the free tier. Free for 5 scans a month. A one-time unlock removes the cap and the ad - no subscription, same as my other apps. Happy to answer anything about the tiled scan or what's still on the roadmap.
