Find where a photo was taken using AI

Picaloca is a mobile app that uses AI to turn a single photo into a location. Drop an image and get coordinates, a short context blurb, and a confidence score—no EXIF needed. Unlike reverse image search, it analyzes visual cues (architecture, signage, landscape) from original shots. Fast results, multilingual UI.

Thanks for checking out Picaloca! I’m Serhii Yaniuk, the founder — we built Picaloca to help creators, travelers and curious minds find where a photo was taken using AI + geo‑aware search. We’re iterating fast — if you try it, please tell us: which photo worked surprisingly well, which didn’t, and what feature would make this indispensable for you. Download: Android / iOS — and thanks for the support!

So, how accurate is the AI finding the location from an old photo?

Sergey Yaniuk

@masump It depends on the visual clues in the photo. Old photos work well if persistent features remain (historic buildings, street layouts).
