This is very interesting! Some questions - How do you ensure the photo clicked is fresh and from that location (and not some stock photo) - Is there interaction possible between the person who requests and the one who serves the photo (basically what happens if it doesn't meet my expectations)? - Any restrictions on what is not allowed? E.g can I ask some to go a jewelry store and ask them to send pics of the latest collection?

Hi @shachinb1 - great questions. Regarding how we ensure the photos are fresh (and not just downloaded from the internet), there are a few safeguards in place. First, the instructions to the photographer make it clear that new photos are expected by the buyer. Second, there is an approval process whereby the buyer can either accept or reject the photos. When a rejection occurs, our support team reviews the photos delivered and the chat history to assess whether a good faith effort was made by the photographer or whether they tried to skirt the rules. If the latter, we refund the buyer and don't pay out the photographer. Sometimes we will take a hit if the situation is a bit grey. Third, we have an algorithm (still in the works mind you) that detects freshness. I won't divulge too much about that as I don't want to give instructions on how to get around it. We'll continue to monitor this issue, but users appear to be happy so far. Regarding the interactions between the app user (aka the buyer) and the photographer, the app facilities messaging between the two parties, but only once the photographer has been selected (this happens via an algorithm in the integration between the app and the Freelancer.com platform). The messaging allows for clarification and some back and forth. Regarding restrictions, you can put in instructions to the photographer upfront (or chat with them once selected). It depends on what you need. I think your example of the jewelry store would work, though I wouldn't expect the photographer wanting to spend hours photographing everything (or the store allowing it). And of course there are certain things that are just off limits (e.g. military bases), so that is not going to work. The way I see it, if a request to photograph something would make me feel uncomfortable, then I would think a photographer would not bid on the order.

Apart from personal use case, I see this can have great use cases for businesses also, for someone example who wants to do a survey etc... lots of potential areas. I downloaded it now... haven't yet found an idea for which I would pay $30 (using the launch code) Good luck! :)

Hey there Product Hunt! I'm happy to introduce Photo Anywhere, an app for ordering photos from anywhere in the world. This was my pandemic project and the first real app I've ever created. Photo Anywhere sources photographers from the Freelancer marketplace, which now numbers over 50 million users. All the interaction and coordination happens via the Freelancer API. However, to the user, this is mostly abstracted away, so their experience is about ordering and receiving photos. On the Freelancer side, Photo Anywhere projects appear as just another local project. Why would you want to use this app? You can learn more on the use cases page of our website, but briefly Photo Anywhere can be used for all sorts of reasons, from journalism to genealogy to market research to secret shopping to travel planning. We look forward to seeing how you use it. Does Photo Anywhere really work anywhere? Well, that is the ambition, but of course where there are few people the chance of success will be low. Of course if we do not source a photographer for you, there is no charge. That said we have had success on every continent save Antarctica and in some pretty remote places. @michael_liedtke This is very interesting and thank you for inspiring us to use Freelancer.com API...! I have a suggestion Can you use freelancer API and get meta data of the uploaded image. If it's a raw image, it should have most of the details including Geo tags. You can inform the freelancer to upload raw photos. I'm just a beginner, hope my suggestion is helpful. - Asiri from Sri Lanka (A small island nearby Indian continent)
