Calling all travelers, digital nomads and the broader product hunt community! 👋 ✈️ We're excited to share Peanut with you. 🥜 We built Peanut to show you current COVID-19 travel rules and uncommon travel insights. All to help you make decisions and book a better trip. It's kind of like "honey" for travel, and Peanut works on top of Expedia, Booking.com or Google Flights while you're browsing for flights. Try Peanut today and let us know what you think! How we got here: Brady was booking a trip to Thailand in March 2020, and noticed that few information about COVID-19 was shown in the booking process which was surprising and problematic. So, three travel enthusiasts banded together to create what is now Peanut. Peanut was built during the nights and weekends during the quarantine, because we didn't have anything else to do and Friends was taken off Netflix... 😹 🥜 What's with the name Peanut? Our designer Alex came up with the name. At first, it was a joke. And then, he was serious! Remember the legacy airline travel snack? Peanuts are a high calorie snack that get you through your journey. Where do we go from here? Today we show information about COVID-19 travel rules and requirements for destinations, visa requirements, and predicted flight delays. We're working on new ways to show destination weather and hotel insights that go beyond the simple reviews, photos, and google maps hacks that we all use. What would make your booking experience better? What do you wish you'd have known before booking that flight or hotel? Try Peanut today for your next trip and comment below or email support@trypeanut.com

I traveled post-covid before Peanut and wish I knew about it sooner. Such a well designed experience, too. Keep up the good work!

@vlokshin Definitely give it a try and let us know what you think for your next trip!

Just used this while planning a trip to Hawaii, and it was sooooo smooth, loved it. Can't wait to see where it goes 🔥 @brady_simpson I'd love some kind of Airbnb integration + personalization learning; while booking a flight, see how many Airbnbs are open for those dates, especially those that fall within my usual nightly budget!
Brady Simpson
@pvm we'll have to dig into the airbnb use case. That's a super cool idea and something we'd love to support in the future since ABNB is a large swath of the market.

Such a good way to quickly allow planning as we start to plan travel again! The up-to-date information on quarantine, testing, vaccination rates saves me time on every trip.

@jonathan_ng4 appreciate the feedback. Let us know if there's anything else you'd like to see when you plan your next trip!

Used this while figuring out my LA/Miami plans. Good stuff!

Have been playing around with this while exploring potential destinations for my first COVID-era international trip; super stable and so awesome to be able to use it for Int'l-Int'l legs as well. Also, the COVID risk rating+vax rate is a crucial piece of data and I'm shocked that I haven't seen it leveraged yet by other products :) Excited for hotel support in the future and to see how ya'll integrate that with an overall, holistic, "this is your trip" view (could also launch some re-engagement emails leading up to the trip, change alerts, etc etc). Nice job!!

@russakov Let us know what doesn't work and what could be improved. What would make you want to use Peanut every time you book a trip? Thank you for the feedback

I'm excited to give this a try! I genuinely enjoy that it's a free chrome extension and not another app that I have to download. Also, +1 for the beautiful designs. Gotta love an early-stage consumer product that pays attention to the details!
Brady Simpson
@amandaemmanuel thank you -- let us know if you have any suggestions. Since it is an extension, it only works on desktop. In the future, we may consider a website that also works on mobile devices. We didn't want to start with an app, and agreed with you there. Having to download yet another mobile app that sends push notifications and clutters up your home screen is a drag. In the future we may consider a mobile-friendly website so we're not permanently leaving out half of the population who is mobile first.

@amandaemmanuel Thanks for the kind words about the design! We like details over here! 🤗 ✏️
