Most direct to consumer genetic testing companies are providing a very narrow review of your genes- they look for very few, very specific mutations and nothing beyond that. The problem is they miss the vast majority of mutations that are relevant to your health risks. Furthermore, they are not CAP and CLIA certified laboratories, meaning they are not medical grade laboratories and can not reliably provide information that can guide medical decisions. Panacea partners with CAP and CLIA labs, expert genetic counselors, trained physicians and provides medical grade Whole Exome Sequencing. @carlos_rivera12 thanks so much! It takes about 21 business days after the lab receives your sample. This is actually really fast! Many labs providing medical grade Whole Exome tests take 3 months or more to get results.

Reading through the comments you mention sending a sample to the laboratory, (yes I read that like Dexter from the cartoon) is the sample drawn blood or something else?
