Hello there, My first launch on Product Hunt! And here is my story: I had the opportunity to learn russian in the early 2000s in middle and high school as 1st foreign language, and I was quite a good student. Russian is one of those languages that are difficult to master, and if you don't practice it's easy to just lose the skill. On my end, fundamentals are still there but I struggle making elaborate sentences and often panic when speaking, because I did not have the chance to actually get out of the formatted exercises of the textbooks. I joined night classes in the hope of practicing with people witht the same expectations but the actual levels were too diverse and I felt like losing time and money, I could not practice enough and the embarassment, stress, and panic were still there. So I tried the apps, but they clearly address beginners, and then I started watching russian movies & shows on Netflix, but even if I could understand some with subtitles, that's not what would improve my speaking. As a result, I coded this small app for myself at first, which proved quite enjoyable, no judgment, no panic, suited for my B2 level: just speak and listen casually about things of life, with an AI based persona that won't make fun of you but will give you grammar and vocab tips. Get a daily/weekly digest of those tips, the corrections and even suggestion on what could be the focus or challenges for the next discussions It won't replace a real person interaction nor full immersion abroad, but I feel like it's bridging a gap between school learning and real life, and it's bringing confidence back.
