Hi everyone! πŸ‘‹ I'm Sagar Kashyap, the creator of PackagePal. As a developer, I've always found it frustrating to switch between ecosystems. You know the feeling: "What's the Node.js equivalent of Python's requests library?" I built PackagePal to solve this exact problem. It uses the Gemini API to understand the intent behind a package, helping you discover similar tools across different languages, not just 1:1 name matches. Tech Stack Fun Facts: πŸ€– AI: Gemini Pro βš›οΈ Frontend: React.js & TypeScript βš™οΈ Backend: Typescript & Node.js on Google Cloud ⚑ Caching: Redis for lightning-fast repeat searches This was a solo project built to solve a personal pain point, and I'm so excited to share it with the community. I'm here all day to answer questions and would love to hear your feedback. What package equivalents do you struggle to find?

@sagar_kashyap1Β Does it let you filter the results based on popularity, recent commits, or community activity?

Sagar Kashyap

@masumpΒ Hi. It searches for the most relevant packages according to the description and popularity not on commits and community activity neither these filters are provided for the users to add. But that's a pretty good functionality to have. All the logic and filtering is handled in backend itself, it is not provided in UI. Thanks for the commentπŸ˜€
