Hi Product Hunters! šŸ‘‹šŸ˜ø First of all, thank you @katmanalac for hunting us! My name is Carlo and I'm the co-founder of Pabio. With Pabio, you get your apartment fully furnished by a professional interior designer and rent high-quality furniture on a monthly subscription. ā˜ļø How it works: 1. The user goes through a virtual onboarding questionnaire and tells us their interior design preferences. 2. Based on their floor plan, Pabio automatically generates a photorealistic 3D model of the apartment with furniture and decor items. We do this with our proprietary rendering technology. 3. After agreeing to the proposal, the customer gets their apartment fully furnished and pays a monthly subscription fee. Once they move out, we take all the furniture back, renovate it, and the cycle repeats. My co-founder @anandchowdhary and I are very much looking forward to your feedback. We're here all day to answer any questions you might have. Thank you!

@katmanalac @anandchowdhary @carlobadini What countries do you currently support?
Anand Chowdhary
@keegansard Pabio is currently available in Switzerland and we're planning on expanding to more countries soon. You can sign up on https://pabio.com/country-waitlist/ and we'll inform you as soon as we're available in your area!

@anandchowdhary Done - This is a great play for Europe. Well done!

For a 2 room apartment like I have, I can seriously get it fully furnished and have it look that good for a few hundred $ per month?? If this is really the case, looks like an amazing deal! Interior design + rental furniture, all inclusive?
Anand Chowdhary
@sukritikapoor15 If you get a 2-room apartment, say for four years, you'll pay around $300 per month: https://pabio.com/pricing/. It's more expensive if you have a bigger apartment or want to sign a shorter contract, but our average customers pay CHF ~350 per month (~$385). And you're right: professional interior design based on your needs and style and high-quality furniture — all included in that price. We even fully insure your furniture, so if you spill coffee on your sofa, no worries! ā˜•ļø

We're super excited to launch on Product Hunt! I thought I'd quickly jump in and tell you more about our technology: When you sign up, we send you a free proposal with automagically generated photorealistic 3D renders of your apartment, so you don't have to imagine what your fully-furnished apartment will look like. On the user side, we have a purely digital experience powered by a web app where they can manage their apartment including scheduled deliveries, insurance claims, payments, and more. Visit us at https://pabio.com and tell us what you think! Happy to answer any questions!

@anandchowdhary I think this sounds awesome. I am currently temporarily in nigeria and the price difference I am hearing of between an Unfurnished Household and a Furnished one is 1-2 million Naira ~2 - 4k USD & 12-36 million Naira annually ~30k USD

Do you have a test for choosing a personalized interior in your solution? Idea: add special interior solutions from bloggers šŸ‘‹šŸ»
Carlo Badini
@nataliekarakina That sounds super interesting. We've been playing with a similar idea. Can you quickly elaborate what you exactly mean by it? šŸ™
Natalie Karakina
@carlobadini for example, people will see an option to chose ready-made interiors that bloggers created (blogger is obsessed with wood = wood interior and special vase from blogger ha-ha)
Carlo Badini
@nataliekarakina Yeah that's exactly what we imagined! :)

Looks interesting! Does the system decide automatically what furniture I should use or is there human team for consultancy?
Anand Chowdhary
@giri A professional, human, interior designer picks furniture based on your preferences (we do a phone call to get to know you better), like whether you work from home, who you live with, and the styles you like. They are assisted by our friendly robots, of course! After we send you a personalized proposal, you use our website to make changes to your apartment, like adding/removing/replacing furniture. Only when you're fully happy, we ship, deliver, and assemble everything!

I love the tech aspect of it, but it sounds quite expensive! Would be possible that you just crawl the IKEA catalogue and propose something from there (buying instead of renting, IKEA instead of expensive designer furniture)?
Carlo Badini
@severinstalder Good point! We tested your hypothesis thoroughly in the beginning. It's actually not more expensive using high-quality furniture vs. using IKEA furniture. The reason being: since we rent out the furniture the main driver for the cost is the depreciation time. Since long-lasting furniture have a much longer depreciation than say IKEA, it may actually even be a bit cheaper. And it's definitely more sustainable :)
G. Bertrand
I absolutely love the sustainability potential, but I wonder: how long are you anticipating furniture to stay in the use-renovate cycle?
Anand Chowdhary
@g_bertrand Great question! To be honest, we don't exactly know (time will tell!), but we're getting the high-quality furniture we can find. I always like to remember how our grandparents' furniture was long-lasting and durable, so we want to recreate that feeling. I feel like with "fast furniture" competitors and this culture of throwing away poor quality furniture is the root of this problem. Personally, I'm 100% confident that the furniture will last 5+ years, but I think it'll be closer to a decade.
Anand Chowdhary
@g_bertrand Especially because the furniture is fully insured and we plan on adding some maintenance-related services as part of the subscription to increase the lifespan. :)
G. Bertrand
@anandchowdhary That makes sense to me. I think that, as you say, you will need to take a few extra steps on your part to increase the lifespan, but if your target audience is equally interested in the sustainability of the model as you are, then one would hope everyone does their part.
