Ouroboros is an open-source framework for private communication without centralized discovery servers. It combines Handshake (deterministic 1:1 secure sessions with QR flows and network fallback) and EtherSync (passphrase-derived encrypted spaces for async messages and chunked file sharing). This launch adds a guided desktop UX, robust daemon lifecycle (reconnect/reclaim/live logs), runtime diagnostics, and backlog replay on rejoin for recent EtherSync history.

I built Ouroboros to remove the usual trade-off between privacy and usability in P2P communication. Most tools are either centralized and easy, or decentralized but painful to operate. My goal was to make deterministic, encrypted peer communication feel practical: two clear modes (live session and shared async space), guided flows, and hardening for real network conditions. During development, the biggest evolution was focusing on reliability and operator UX: fallback paths, diagnostics, daemon lifecycle controls, and now replay-on-rejoin for EtherSync. I’d love feedback on architecture, threat model, and where you’d push this next.
