Where do you consider home? What makes us who we are? How do we truly get to know someone—even those we think we already know? The answer lies in asking questions, sharing stories, and uncovering the moments that shaped our past, present, and dreams for the future. Introducing Odd One In – the first card game designed for Third Culture Kids to spark meaningful conversations and create deeper connections. This idea bloomed earlier this year when I played a card game with my friend Jamie and her partner Rocky. While fun, I craved questions that went deeper—stories about our pasts, what shaped us, and how our unique experiences connect us. As an Asian American growing up in the U.S., I often felt caught between my family’s traditions and the need to fit into broader society. I realized there wasn’t a space to reflect on or share these experiences. So, I started jotting down meaningful questions and testing prototypes at dinner parties. Six months, countless iterations, and so much collaboration later, I’m thrilled to share Odd One In. This game wouldn’t have been possible without my incredible cofounder Gloria and talented designers, Yihuang and Yixuan. Together, we’ve created something thoughtful, fun, and deeply personal. Odd One In is more than a game; it’s a bridge—to explore who we are, where we come from, and what connects us.
