Gamified Pomodoro StudyApp

I made a gamified pomodoro timer, called Octodoro. I often run low on motivation when studying so I'm interested in building tools to keep me in the game! It's completely free as of right now and I'd appreciate some visitors and feedback!

@maxthomarino Congrats on the launch. Maybe adding a possibility to add a task with a keyboard shortcut instead of a mouse click. Also, having order short, long, pomodoro might be better (sorted by length).
Aris Nakos
@maxthomarino I understand pomodoro alludes to tomato, but why did you choose a red color ?
Max
@aris_nakos My app was initially inspired by pomofocus.io, I liked the red theme but thought the contrast was a little too dim. I think that bright colors make the app feel more playful/happy!
Max
@1aleksa Thankyou very much, good suggestion! And yes sorting by length could work, but right now I think that having the pomodoro in the center makes the layout more symetrical as most of the time pomodoro will be the active component. I appreciate your engagement :)

This looks awesome. Congrats on your launch! I quite often use Pomodoro to do work. What other themes were you planning to add?
Max
@levyne Thankyou very much :) The themes to add go along the idea of allowing the user freedom of design, though now I think about it I would very much like to add custom themes with nice graphics to go along with it.

Hey Max, I'm curious if you've considered adding social features, like competing with friends or sharing achievements. Congrats on the launch!
Max
@kyrylosilin Yes, that's definitely something I'm going to implement. Thanks for the support!

The design is so cute! I'm not sure, but I think it would be great if it could be added to the home screen on desktop as a PWA for use.
Max
@nicolepark I really appreciate that! Yes, I like the idea, I'm not entirely familiar with the concept though... my current understanding is that it's like a desktop app? I see that as a possibility :)

Hey @maxthomarino! Love the concept of Octodoro! Gamifying productivity is such a smart approach; it really helps in maintaining focus. As someone who often struggles with motivation too, I think incorporating leaderboards or challenges could really enhance the community aspect of your tool. Maybe you could consider adding a feature for personalized music or soundscapes to enhance the UX during study sessions? I'd be happy to upvote and provide feedback as I check it out! Excited to see where you take this—definitely keep us updated on future features or expansions! Keep up the great work!

@blankwebdev Thankyou very much for your comment, yes you have a very great idea there :) I intend to implement that, it will start of as rather basic music and then with time I'd hope to grow it! One thing I'm curious about is potential integration with music streaming platforms, what are your thoughts on that?
Great job on keeping the leaderboard up to date and motivating users to stay on track!

Congratulations on your launch! The design is visually appealing, and the approach to productivity is innovative. Some suggestions : Adding a task with a keyboard shortcut could enhance usability. Also, sorting tasks by length (short, long, Pomodoro) might improve the workflow. Tooltips for the icons on the top could help users understand their functions better. The red color is striking—any particular reason for choosing it?
Max
@zara_bottom Thankyou :) Yes those are all things I intend to implement, as for the red color, I like the vibrancy as it helps to lift the mood!
