Minting your first NFT is a daunting task for beginners: setting up a wallet, aquiring ether, Ethereum gas prices, navigating diffferent platforms... - it's very complex. NUFTU is simple: upload your digital artwork and pay the fee in USD - your NFT is ready!

What do you think? …

I'm working on Nuftu, a platform that let's anyone become a Cryptoartist without delving into the complexities of the Ethereum blockchain. Nuftu takes care of everything in order to mint an ERC721 compliant NFT that is compatible with all major NFT marketplaces (e.g. Opensea, Rarible). The steps are as follows: -You upload your artwork (picture, drawing, video or audio), add a title and description -You pay the required Ethereum fees in USD using a credit card -Nuftu takes care of minting and creates an Ethereum account (incl. private key) or uses an already existing acount if you have one already. The process takes less than two minutes and greatly speed up and simplifies NFT minting. Let me know what you think.

@rainer_follador Rainer, what do you think of the environmental impacts of cryptoart and NFTs? It would be great to have insights from someone creating a product on this subject. I understand with the current infrastructure, proof of work, it is not a good thing to produce NFTs in scale, and making tools for everybody to participate, before providing suitable solutions, like more energy efficient Proof-of-Stake (PoS) networks. Recently I was reading Joanie Lemercier's article "The problem of (Ethereum) CryptoArt" https://joanielemercier.com/the-... and reviewing Clean NFTs platform (https://cleannfts.org) for learning more on this subject, how we will shape the future for crypto art without destroying our habitat.

@boraoztunc That's an important question. Personally, I'm an advocate of Eth2 (Ethereum's proof-of-stake protocol). Mainly because Ethereum is the most important and widely accepted block chain for NFTs and smart contracts in general; so this move will have a big impact. Furthermore, we're considering adding a CO2-offset option (e.g. using myclimate.com). What do you think about that?

Thanks for submitting to Producthunt @rainer_follador !!

It's true for a lot of artists crypto mechanics are a barrier. Obviously, the main concern is that with Nuftu it's no longer decentralized. Nuftu is like a middle-man. I would love to know how you handle the keys. End-to-end encryption? Would be also nice if you position yourself with focus on security.
Rainer Follador
@kyparus good points! Regarding decentralization: that's true, but it's an inherent problem of the ERC721 specification and the fact that it's too expensive to host data in the ETH chain, so virtually all NFT data is hosted in a centralized (or semicentralized for IPFS) fashion. So it's not particular for Nuftu. But it's definitely a problem that should be addressed. Regarding keys: Nuftu has Metamask integration if you want to use an existing wallet. So there we only get the public address, not the private key. Alternatively, Nuftu generates a new private key and displays it during the creation process. In this case it's the responsibility of the user to safely store the key. Nuftu discards the key and only stores the address. Let me hear your thoughts on this.

For those, who want to expose the crypto address: it is empty :) 0x959AE8393c6efA2e8C35Db70e199AEe599c70165

Heyy would love to talk more about NUFTU

@repreneur sure, hit me up at contact@nuftu.com

where is the NFT image hosted at?
Jun Gong
@ferdy_kwee1 curious know about this too - IPFS I assume...?
Rainer Follador
@ferdy_kwee1 It's hosted on a Nuftu server. We're considering offering the option to host data on IPFS, but this will occur a higher cost for minting plus hosting.
