Hey, team! Thanks for keeping this nice cozy place for us at ProductHunt! We've just found out CNET used our free edition of NetSpot to make the smart house they bought for all sorts of geeky experiments even smarter in terms of Wi-Fi. NetSpot is all about Wi-Fi… and we are always excited to find out how our users benefit from the awesome visualization capabilities we empower them with. Some would explore around for neighboring networks, others would troubleshoot weak signal in their offices. We've got businesses offering Wi-Fi audits with NetSpot as a service, or deploying wireless networks in schools and hospitals based on generated heatmaps. Wi-Fi is everywhere these days. And NetSpot is gaining its piece of attention all over the world. All you need to start using NetSpot is a MacBook and some spare time. We really hope you'll love our discounted offer and the product itself. Were you ever hunting for anything like NetSpot? Thanks again for having us here :)

Hi @paul_johnson32! I'm wondering how is the wifi power map created in case of multiple floors office? I'd like to know also, if your product considers materials walls to detect possible hidden Faraday cages? Thanks :)

Hi @_akanoa_ ! :) 1) Not sure which Wi-Fi visualization you are asking about now. Depending on whether you chose Signal-to-Interference ratio, Signal Strength or any other of our 16 visualizations, that data exactly is being visualized after you take the measurements as instructed by the app. 2) NetSpot doesn't account for wall materials as it's irrelevant for active and passive surveys. Heatmaps display real wireless data. To conduct perfect surveys make sure you follow our practical recommendations: Building materials will be required in NetSpot 3, that is going to support predictive surveys (the planning mode for Wi-Fi networks)

Hi @arunpattnaik ! Thank you for your interest in our app :) NetSpot is a simple utility that gives you the tools to draw out your floorplan, walk about your home or office with your laptop, and survey network strength, available networks, and channels in use along the way.
