Tired of calculating directions every day to see subway times? Hate hanging around on seedy platforms with 10 minutes to wait? With MyTrain, building a departures board is easy. Simply select trains you'd like to save, and pop into the app before heading out.
👋 Hey NYC hunters!
We’ve just launched MyTrain, the easiest way to catch your commuter train just in time.
As Subway platforms become increasingly sketchy and delays become more prevalent, being on time is of the essence. Of course, other maps apps allow you to look up directions (and see times), but doing this for the same routes to and from work every day is a hassle.
MyTrain solves this by enabling you to quickly build your own persistent departures board for trains you regularly take – which works even when the boards in the station are down!
Any feedback or thoughts are much appreciated.

Congratulations Team MyTrain on your successful launch on Producthunt! Seems like a smart solution to a daily conundrum. Quick suggestion: perhaps you could integrate real-time updates about delays or cancellations? It could help users plan their trips more accurately and avoid waiting at the station unnecessarily. Best of luck!
@manmohit Yeah we currently have a feature if the train line at your station isn't running there. We plan to add more in-depth information about train status in the future.
As a New Yorker I kind of take offense to subway platforms being ever more sketchy. Anyhow are you thinking of integrating or joining forces with that other app that reports on the number of rats in a station?
@leon_ostrez, We would love to start collecting more data so we can create some unique insights for users. We plan to add a more detailed information on train status as well.
