A simple Android app for tracking recurring tasks without rigid schedules or fixed dates. When you check off a task, its timer resets and starts counting, until the task becomes due and sends a notification. Made for routine activities like watering plants, changing filters, or getting up and stretching; activities you want to do regularly but not on a strict schedule. Useful for anyone who prefers a nudge and reminder over a calendar alarm. No ads. No accounts. No subscriptions. No data shared.

Hi all! 👋
I initially built Membar for myself over 12 years ago (which explains the retro look) and I’ve been using it ever since. Now that I have some time on my hands, I’ve decided to release it through my company as a small indie side project for a very modest price. I focus on keeping it simple and reliable, rather than growing it aggressively or rushing features.
The core idea that sets it apart from a calendar is that tasks count down time since the last check-off, rather than following a fixed repeating schedule. The tasks you add are represented as progress bars that form a sort of dashboard, hence the name Membar. It’s aimed at anyone who finds it hard to stay on top of the things they want to do regularly.
Since I first wrote this app, other apps with a similar core idea have appeared. I encourage you to contrast and compare: some of them are Recurro, Depletables, and Recurrance (the last two launched here on Product Hunt). But this is my personal take on the problem.
Additional features not shown in screenshots:
* Ability to snooze a due task to suppress reminders until a specific date and time
* "Inverted tasks" that default to green but turn red for a period when you check them off, to discourage doing something too often, such as drinking soda or taking pain medication.
I’m happy to hear thoughts and ideas, and I really appreciate any feedback, even if I can’t act on everything right away.
Currently available in English and Swedish.
Available as a cheap one-time purchase on Google Play in most regions (some countries excluded).
If Membar isn’t available in your country, feel free to leave a comment and I will consider it.
