We built MeldEagle because we were drowning. Our Shopify store had grown from around 100 products to over 800 SKUs across tech categories, and what started as "just five more minutes" of product management regularly turned into 20+ hours a week: cross-referencing supplier spreadsheets, fixing stock discrepancies, manually listing new items, chasing price changes. It wasn't just eating our time; it was costing us money. We lost an estimated £1,800 one weekend alone because competitors repriced immediately while we didn't catch supplier updates until days later. We were overselling across channels, frustrating customers, and unknowingly selling parts of our catalogue at a loss because costs had crept up without us noticing. We tried everything first: bulk import tools, pricing apps, virtual assistants, custom freelance work. Nothing eliminated the underlying manual effort. After yet another Saturday lost to failed CSV uploads and Shopify timeouts, we decided to build exactly what we needed ourselves. Over ten months, we developed and tested every feature on our own store before offering it to anyone else. The results transformed our business: product management dropped from 20+ hours to about 20 minutes a week, revenue rose 28% in six months, and new products went live in minutes rather than days.
