Daniel Lee
👋 Annyung Hunters! I am Daniel Lee, obsessed with Internet speed, and my team is making the Internet faster. After I first launched our initial VPN in March, I found that users and I mostly use Mareel for playing online games. Here are the pain points users go through when there is lag: First, we restart the game. If that doesn’t work, we reboot the computer and then restart the game. If that doesn’t work, we start poking around the router; Touch the antennas; Move the router from there to here; Unplug and plug back the LAN. If that doesn’t work, we call the telecom; Upgrade the Internet package; Make an appointment for an engineer visit; Hear the same thing: “the Internet is well connected.” If that doesn’t work, we buy new graphic cards we couldn’t get. It still doesn’t work; It says connected, but not really. Ping still pops up. Mareel stabilizes the connection between your computer and game servers, site-to-site, by controlling jitters, packet loss, and latency that cause the general Internet problems beyond the telecom reach. For instance, when I play Star Citizen on the US-east server from Seoul, Korea, the ping drops from 700~1,000ms turbulence to 200ms with our Mareel ON. User Network Mobility (UNM) is a new trend I found after Content Delivery Network (CDN). Especially for the gaming experience, the users are willing to fly directly to the servers for better immersion. Like an air taxi, Mareel VPN transports users directly to their games. No more traffic jams! Mareel is based on WireGuard-nt, available on Windows and macOS. Until we move on to support the mobile games, I’d like to see more use cases from you!
