I got a chance to try out the prototype of the LyfieEye. It's exciting that products like this are making 360 photos/video more accessible to people, and hopefully give more interest into VR. LyfieEye is basically an orb that fits in the USB port of your Android phone, then you can then take photos/videos in 360. The software makes it pretty seamless, and works just like your normal phone's photo/video gallery, then you can share directly to Facebook/YouTube/etc, and it'll be viewable as a 360 photo/video on that platform. You can then re-watch the video (or photo) and change your view by rotating and tilting your phone. I recorded some footage and I'll post it here later today. Their Kickstarter to get the product mass produced just launched today and they've already raised 10% of their goal in several hours. Really excited to see how this product develops!

LyfieEye has been one of our dreams for years now and it's finally becoming a reality! It is a truly affordable camcorder that plugs straight into Android Phones and allows you to preview, record and playback live-like spherical 360 degree videos and photos. And all from an object no larger than Harry Potter’s Golden Snitch! We've already shipped our final pre-production samples out for all the requisite safety and user certification and the bulk of development work is finished! Our goal through this Kickstarter is to move on to mass production and resolve any minor aesthetic refinements that might need to be made to our product and accompanying accessories. Thank you for looking and don't hesitate to let us know your thoughts!
