LockNLearn Kids

Smart screen time manager for kids

Most screen-time tools either block apps completely or turn screen time into a reward. Lock N Learn takes a different approach. Screen time stays limited. Before apps unlock, kids complete a short, age-appropriate learning task. No rewards. No gamification. No earning more screen time. The goal isn’t to eliminate screens or push more learning, it’s to reduce daily friction by making learning part of the routine before screens, instead of positioning it as the opposite of fun.

I built Lock N Learn after noticing how often screen time turns into friction - not just because of how much time kids spend on screens, but because learning and screens are usually positioned as opposites. This app is a small experiment around one idea: keep screen time limited, but make learning come first, without rewards, points, or extra minutes. The goal isn’t to eliminate screens or force learning, just to make routines smoother and reduce constant negotiation. I’m especially interested in feedback from: - parents who’ve tried other screen-time tools - educators thinking about habits vs rewards - anyone who feels “screens as prizes” might be backward I’ll be around all day - honest criticism is very welcome 🙏
