Hi Product Hunt! πŸ‘‹ I’m Erdi, the maker of LocaleX. As a mobile developer, I’ve always loved building apps but absolutely dreaded the localization process. πŸ˜… Dealing with string files manually, copy-pasting into translators, and fixing format errors was a huge productivity killer for me. That’s why I built LocaleX. It is a native macOS app designed to make localization effortless. It uses AI to auto-translate your keys while preserving context, and it syncs directly with your Xcode projects. I built this tool to scratch my own itch, and now I'm excited to share it with the community. I’d love to hear your feedback, questions, or feature requests in the comments below! πŸ‘‡ Thanks for your support! πŸš€

@riza_erdi_karakusΒ Very relatable problem, localization always feels like more work than it should, Love the native macOS focus.

As a solo iOS dev, I lose hours babysitting .strings and copy‑paste. A native mac app is a relief. How does it handle plurals and placeholders, and do git diffs stay clean? If yes, this is going in my next release. Nice work, Erdi.

@alexcloudstarΒ

thanks! really appreciate that

for plurals β€” it works with xcstrings natively, so plural variants are fully supported. the AI translates each plural form separately

placeholders like %@ and %d stay intact, the AI knows to preserve them

git diffs are clean since it writes directly to your xcstrings file, no temp files or weird formatting. just the translations change

let me know how it goes if you try it! always happy to hear feedback

Hey Erdi, congrats on the launch! Copy-pasting into translators and fixing format errors that brings back painful memories. Was there a specific project where the localization process just completely derailed you?

@vouchyΒ

oh definitely! I was working on an app with 15+ languages and every time I updated a string, I had to manually copy it to a translator, paste it back, fix the broken placeholders, and repeat for each language. one time I accidentally overwrote the wrong file and lost hours of work. that was the breaking point β€” I started building LocaleX the next day πŸ˜…

Great idea! In web development, it’s considered that up to 30% of the budget can go to one language. In mobile, I’m not sure, but I think it’s also a lot. Good luck with developing the project!

@mykyta_semenov_Β

thank you! you're right β€” localization costs add up fast, especially when you support multiple languages. that's exactly why I built this with a "bring your own API key" model. you pay per actual translation, not per language or per project. appreciate the kind words!

Amazing! Congratulations on your launch!

This tool should've existed long ago, and it's finally here! πŸš€

@avlossΒ

thank you so much! really means a lot πŸ™ been needing this myself for years, finally decided to build it. hope it saves you some time!

LocaleX looks amazing! That Xcode sync feature is a lifesaver. How does the AI handle different pluralization rules across languages? So cool!

rΔ±za erdi karakus

@jaydev13Β

thanks so much! for pluralization β€” since LocaleX works with xcstrings natively, it handles all the plural variants that Apple supports (zero, one, two, few, many, other). the AI translates each form correctly based on the target language's rules. really glad you like it!
