I built this tool because I frequently needed to convert personal voice memos but felt uncomfortable uploading them to random cloud servers. I wanted a solution that was private, free, and didn't require installing heavy software. LocalAudioConvert runs entirely in your browser. It leverages WebAssembly (FFmpeg.wasm) to process audio files locally on your machine. Why I built it this way: 🔒 100% Privacy: Your files never leave your device. No server uploads, ever. ⚡ Client-side Processing: Once the engine loads, conversions happen instantly. 🛠 No Installation: It works directly in Chrome, Edge, and Firefox. Note on Performance: Since it runs a full FFmpeg instance in the browser, the first load downloads a core file (~25MB).
