LMFAO.tech is my first product!
It's a meme discovery and creation platform built upon Twitter. It's built upon the idea of rewards, incentivisation, gamification and community!

Why was this required?

About a couple of months ago, I was having a conversation with my school friend, and he told me about how Reddit and Twitter are his only forms of entertainment, and that he's there just for the memes. Social media algorithms give so many out-of-context recommendations that it's almost impossible to just sit back, chillax and scroll through some memes.
This little thought of mine sparked again when I was trying to create a meme quickly for a friend - I created the meme online, but I knew that the meme makers currently can be made a little better.
So, after some brainstorming- Me and my friend @yxshv came up with LMFAO.tech. But we hadn't perfected it yet - it was supposed to just be a feed full of Twitter and Reddit posts. Fetching posts from Twitter and figuring out whether it's a memes or not - is difficult, and we knew this from the start. "Isn't this a bit dull?" I thought. "We should add liking/retweeting and a points system". And maybe a leaderboard to spice things up? And that's exactly what we did!
We made it so that liking, retweeting and posting also do the same on Twitter.
We still had a huge problem though - the automated feed pulled still wasn't perfect - the occasional NSFW content, spam, etc made it almost unusable. So we had to implement a moderation system along with it.
We figured that the best approach would be to make a community page where users can upload things by themselves. Less spam, no NSFW, easier to moderate - but where do we get users? Why would anyone upload anything? Were the main questions troubling me. So we also created a Twitter bot (https://twitter.com/LMFAO_tech) - which users can tag under any meme on Twitter - to submit to our community tab (and earn rewards for it). We added a meme maker, with 150+ templates, so users can easily make the memes.
Alright! So we already had soo many cool features implemented quickly (about 20 days!) and I kept thinking of new ways to have a more "community-like" feel. To do this, we quickly implemented features like the Profile pages and Notifications.
So, problem solved! My friend now has a platform JUST for memes. where he can not only find and interact with but also create them. Where he has a feed just for memes. And he knows he can keep scrolling, cause the content never seems to end! He is now part of a meme community, liking others' posts and getting points, creating memes JUST to get on top of the leaderboard.
LMFAO.tech is completely free! I'm really happy with how it has turned out so far - From a simple fun hobby project to something that I am really proud of. And I'm really excited to read your comments about it.
