The best Screen to GIF tool, super simple.

Can't capture OS X menu bar

Wish it could record the OS X menu bar, but it's great for recording individual windows.

I use this probably 2-3 times a day. Great way to quickly show something, and throw it in Campfire, HipChat, Slack, etc...

@rrhoover Thanks for linking RecordIt. That solved my problem of recording the status bar menu which is something LICEcap can't do unfortunately.

@rrhoover What I like about it, is it's drop-dead simplicity. No extra chrome: just choose what you want to record, it record and click stop. Done.

I just want to say: I can't live without this tool. It's everything I need to share such impactful information about a competitor's product, how our product works, or how a bit of interaction should work. I also can't believe how small they manage to make each GIF! Makes it less taxing on our bandwidth when sharing in Hipchat rooms.
