French numbers are ridiculous. Quatre-vingt-dix-neuf? That's "four-twenty-ten-nine" for 99. Meet Lexie: a tamagotchi-inspired game that makes French practice stick – especially the ridiculous bits. It grows when you practice, evolves when you’re right, and doesn’t punish you for being wrong or missing a day. Fully offline, zero ads. French is free; extra languages are a one-time unlock.

@valzevul Love the “unhinged counting systems” angle 😄 What’s been the weirdest or most unexpectedly hard pattern users have struggled with so far, something they thought they knew, but totally fell apart on in practice?

1 absolutely adorable.
2 please say it's coming to android this is super cute and comfy. Makes me feel like playing animal crossing.
Lexie
@build_with_aj Animal Crossing comparison is a high praise! Android is on the radar but no timeline yet - will shout when it happens
@build_with_aj @valzevul It would be a blessing if it hits the Android market! I'd use it every day!

This thing is extremely cute, do you know that? :D
Lexie
@busmark_w_nika I spent an unreasonable amount of time on its happy dance animation, so yes - very aware! (get a few levels in to check it out 💃)
Lexie
@german_merlo1 thank you! I'd say complement rather than compete. Lexie doesn't teach languages, it helps to drill the bits that other language apps breeze past
@valzevul ohh got it! Even better so!
The 'no punishment for missing a day' philosophy is such a relief. The Duolingo owl actually gives me anxiety when I'm busy.
Lexie
@liusally4 that owl has a lot to answer for! Lexie might sulk a bit if you disappear, but I had to draw the line at passive-aggressive push notifications at 2am
Congrats on the launch of Lexie on Product Hunt! 🎉 Really like how you’ve taken one of the most painful, high-friction parts of language learning—things like French numbers and verb conjugations—and wrapped it into a cosy, Tamagotchi-style experience that fits naturally into micro-moments throughout the day. The offline-first, no-ads, one-time unlock model also feels very aligned with what serious learners and parents are looking for, so excited to see Lexie grow into a go-to drill companion across more languages.🩷
Lexie
@zeiki_yu thank you! Glad the approach resonates
Haha, French numbers are a math test disguised as a language:D If u want truly unhinged counting u gotta check Danish. They've this wierd base-20 system with fractions like half-third-sixty for 50. It's a total brain-breaker! Love the tamagotchi vibt tho) Thats way better than duo passive-agressive threats. Does Lexie have some different evos depending on which verbs we master?
Lexie
@eugene_chernyak thank you for checking it out! You beat me to Danish - it's on my radar for a future update and French does seem reasonable in comparison. No verb-specific evolutions yet, but Lexie does change appearance as you level up and there are cosmetics to unlock through progress and seasonal events. Evolution by verb mastery is a fun idea though, appreciate it!
