Level-up your Websites using Jekyll is a book for non-programmers and beginner developers to quickly create static websites. This book takes readers through step-by-step process of creating sites using a ready theme. Intent is to demonstrate the ease of use of the platform and generate just enough interest for people to explore further.
Jekyll is not quite new. I started exploring Jekyll through the "normal" route of installing it on the local computer, trying out Liquid, and doing stuff.
What does the book try to achieve?
--
Get non-programmers and people who are new to Jekyll to quickly try out the platform. We choose an existing theme, and go through what is possible without touching the code. The site is hosted on GitHub.
Why write this?
--
I understand the book may come out as an ad to a free theme that has been there for ever. I did not invent anything but simply used the existing documentation, developer instructions, and stuff that is taken for granted within the Jekyll community to repackage into something everyone would be comfortable using.
I would love your feedback. The GitHub issue page is quite empty right now - https://github.com/prashanth1k/l... :)
