Leafmark is a calm EPUB reader for iPhone and iPad. Import DRM-free EPUBs. Read without an account or tracking. Highlight in four colors and add notes. Export everything to clean Markdown. Use it with Obsidian, Notion, or any plain-text workflow. Buy once — no subscription.
The buy-once model alone makes me want to switch from the reader I'm using now. One thing I'd love to see is a built-in sync option that works through iCloud Drive so my highlights and notes stay in step between iPhone and iPad without needing an account on your servers. Would keep the privacy promise intact and make daily reading way smoother.

Thank you — and that's exactly the direction I want to take sync. iCloud Drive is the right fit precisely because it keeps the no-account promise: your highlights would sync through your own iCloud, never my servers. It's on the roadmap. I want to get it right rather than rushed, but device-to-device continuity is something I use daily myself, so it matters to me too.

Update for you: iCloud sync shipped in v1.7. Highlights, notes, bookmarks and reading position now stay in step between iPhone and iPad — through your own iCloud Drive, no account, exactly as you hoped. Thank you for the push; your comment moved it to the top of the list.
markdown export is the part that sold me, dragged a whole folder of epubs in and the notes landed cleanly in obsidian without cleanup

export" was the bar I was aiming for. If anything would make the Markdown even more drop-in for you (front matter,
file naming, per-book folders), I'd love to hear it.
the export to clean markdown is honestly such a thoughtful touch, makes it fit right into an obsidian workflow without any cleanup. love that it's buy once too.

Thanks — "no cleanup needed" was the whole bar for the Markdown export, since my own notes live in Obsidian. Glad it drops in cleanly
