I’m a product designer on LayerProof, and Linen was one of those projects where the hardest part wasn’t making video generation possible — it was making it feel like you’re still in control.
AI video is easy to make flashy and impossible to trust. Our whole design goal was the opposite: give you the wheel at every step.
Two things I’m proud of how they turned out:
Storyboard before you generate: we fought hard to put a review step before the render, not after. You see every scene — framing, dialogue, pacing — and approve it before committing. It turns “roll the dice and hope” into an actual creative decision.
Timeline editing that feels familiar: instead of regenerating the whole thing when one clip is off, you can adjust sequences, audio, and timing right in a timeline. We wanted editing to feel like editing, not like re-prompting.
And a quiet favorite: Video Kit. Once your presenters, backdrops, and voice are saved, consistency stops being something you fight for every time — it’s just the default.

Great! I am looking for an app that can help me create videos for social media without showing my face.
Can I just prompt an idea, and will the app generate the content and automatically create the video? Or do I need to provide the content first, and then the app will suggest and create a video based on it? Also, does the app provide music? Is the music free to use, and are there any copyright issues? How much does it cost? Is there a free trial?

@thoang_y Love this! And yes, Linen is built exactly for the no-face use case. You generate an AI narrator, so you never have to be on camera.
On your workflow question: it’s prompt-first with a review step. You upload a product photo and describe your idea in a line or two, and Linen writes the script, breaks it into scenes, and suggests the shots. You preview and edit the whole storyboard (with AI, of course) before you generate anything. Once it looks right, it produces the full video with visuals, voiceover, and music. You don’t have to bring finished content; a product photo + an idea is enough. On music: generated videos come with music included.
We do have free trial and our plan starts $5/month with options to top-up credits at $10. Would love to hear what you make with it happy to answer anything else!
