I built this after repeatedly seeing how confusing and anxiety-provoking lab results can be for patients. Even when results are “normal,” the reports are full of abbreviations and numbers that don’t mean much without context — which often leads people down stressful Google rabbit holes while waiting to hear back from their clinician. My goal wasn’t to diagnose or replace medical advice, but to solve a simpler problem: translation. I wanted a way for someone to take a photo of their lab report and get a calm, plain-language explanation of what the values generally mean and what’s typically considered normal. My approach as I build this is very feedback-driven. I’m starting small, focusing on clarity, tone, and trust before adding more features. As the app evolves, I’m paying close attention to where explanations confuse people, where reassurance is helpful, and where guardrails are needed so the tool stays informative without crossing into medical advice.
