I built Klon because rpi-clone struggled with SSDs. rpi-clone couldn’t handle the newer device prefixes. So migrating from microSD to SSD was painful. I started by fixing that gap, then leaned in and added a safer, more transparent flow: a clear plan before apply (a Terraform-like approach), smart partition handling (boot/root, resize, PARTUUID/fstab fixes), and flags that power users expect. What began as a small SSD fix grew into a full-featured, hard-user-friendly Raspberry Pi cloner.
