Hi Product Hunt! Thanks for the hunt @katmanalac We’re Chad & Lawrence, the founders behind Tappity, a popular science app for kids. Today, we’re launching the Junior Science Fair to everyone, the first online science fair for kids! 🥳 Check out our video announcement from Kari Byron, one of our childhood heroes and original Mythbuster in the gallery! Why now? When parents started asking us for fun activity ideas their kids can do at home this summer, it got us thinking. We personally loved science fairs growing up, and knew many kids missed their school’s fair this year due to COVID, so why not create the first digital science fair? So we did! The premise is simple: Any child worldwide (4-12) can participate in the Junior Science Fair by doing a science experiment at home--choose from our list or create your own! All they have to do--with the help of a guardian--is to share a video or slideshow documenting their process. Our panel of judges will then choose winners from the entries, and Kari will announce the winners of the Junior Science Fair in October! We’re also offering over $20,000 worth of prizes! The deadline to enter is September 30th, 2020, so please spread the word! Let me know if you have any questions. We’re here to answer any and would love your feedback!

My 5-year-old daughter loves Tappity and I'm excited to get her into this Science Fair. We crave doing stuff that isn't solely virtual, and this feels like a great way for us to participate in her education AND actual do stuff in the real world. Thank you @chadwick_swenson and @lawrence_tran
