Ever stare out a plane window and think "What the heck is down there?" Me too. For HOURS.
So l did what any sane person 🙄 would do: spent eight months building an app to answer that question:-) Today, JollyTango goes live on both iOS and Android! 🎉
How it works: JollyTango uses a virtual father-son duo (Jolly Jr. & Jolly Sr.) to automatically (every few mins) narrate stories and insights about places right as you're passing them by whether you’re flying ✈️, driving 🚗, sailing 🛳️, or walking.
Behind the scenes, it synthesizes data from several external data providers, LLMs, the app's internal DB, and making a series of decisions based on the user's travel mode, narration preference, proximity to locations, and other parameters. The app also works when the phone's locked. Audio narration in six languages for now.
No signup (anonymous login). No subscription. Just purchase a 24-hour or 3-day pass as needed. The app also allows you to follow any flight or ship journey from home.
One of those wow moments: A beta tester was awed by the moment when JollyTango narrated about the Titanic's resting place right as their plane flew just a short distance from that exact spot in the Atlantic.
