Yesterday, @oliverjoncross had his passion project, Cicada, posted under Games. Now, if you are at all familiar with LucasArts' classic point-and-click adventure games (think, Monkey Island, Day of the Tentacle, Sam 'n Max, etc.) you would've been pretty excited to see it. With some quick digging, I found that Cicada runs on Jaguar, a story-driven game engine that hopes to make creating your own point-and-click adventure games similar to the aforementioned classics. It's the closest thing to LucasArts' SCUMM game engine I've seen an engine to ever get.
Pretty stoked about this and the kinds of projects it will lead to. And it's super affordable, too ($15)!
The site also has some playable demos of the LucasArts classics all recreated in Jaguar. Check them out!
