This is a real proof of how bad security tools have become.

An alternative to blu-tack, sticker, tape or post-it to cover your cameras on your devices Campaign claims the drawbacks to these are: - They ruin the look and feel of your device. - They always have to be removed and replaced. - They do not last very long. - When using them you leave finger marks on your device. - They leave residue on your device you have to clean. This little thing is 8% thinner than a credit card!

Are you really afraid of it? That somebody spying for you when you picking your nose and sitting in facebook?

@perpetuous I'm not afraid of eating insects, but it doesn't mean it's okay to add bugs to my food.

@di_ry absolutely true! But I'm about, that people exaggerating the problem. Ok, even if somebody spying. What does he see? C'mon guys.

@perpetuous a lot of information that can be used to harass you with adverts. Gender, age, physical appearance, interior, taste in clothing. Just one screenshot hosts a lot of information,

@perpetuous @di_ry the problem he is solving is the one where people like me put a piece of tape on the cam. So yeah, it's a good solve.

I personally don't get too worried about the government spying on me (maybe I should) and this product looks elegant so maybe I will. Have you tested this on the new 2016 Macbook Pro's? That lip is almost non-existent and you wouldn't want to scratch the body. Good luck, it looks like you have blown your funding target! 👍🤑🚀

@dylankbuckley actually you're all good for the new Macbooks pros with TB. The webcam is wired into the secure enclave so it should be well protected :)
@scotty_mcq @dylankbuckley I've actually only heard that said from various people, but never actually read it officially. What's your source? :)
Scott@scotty_mcq · Electrical Designer
@boettges Wired wrote about it inside an article they wrote about touch id being added to the macbooks
@scotty_mcq They also just state that, but don't provide a source. 🤔 In the next sentence they quote a security expert how this method in general could increase the security. They don't quote him on that this has actually been done with the 2016 MBPs. Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to discredit you by all means...just trying to find a reliable source myself 👍
