My name is Jacqueline Chung. I am on a mission to solve social issues in my community using technology. I am interested in increasing awareness of diversity and sustainability, as well as leveraging my computer science background for the greater good. One of the things I noticed this past year was the lack of opportunities for Canadian and international students. As someone who was constantly looking for new job or volunteer opportunities, I always had a roster of links to send to my friends and family. However, over time, it became harder and harder to do this consistently. Eventually, I partnered with my co-founder, Deborah Mepaiyeda (@d_mep). We started out as a newsletter and eventually became this community and database combo. International Hub has TWO components: 1) An international community on Ladder (https://ladder.to/) 2) A resources database platform With International Hub, you can: Access a resources database to help you achieve your dream career Have exclusive access to other professional communities to grow your career Connect and network with students and young professionals worldwide We believe this is a unique product because it allows users to find and contribute to the opportunities. We want users to share opportunities, engage in thoughtful discussions, and utilize the opportunities to find their dream career. Let’s collaborate professionally together!

Hi friends! 👋 Hope you’ve been doing well and keeping safe. Co-founder of International Hub here and I wanted to share a bit about who I am and how this came to be. Echoing the things mentioned by @jchung, I noticed that not a lot of our friends knew of or were able to access the opportunities that I knew about. Also, we found that community is something that everyone, especially students and young professionals need. Thus, International Hub was born - a combination of community and resources. We are so grateful to all the people that have supported us thus far! We appreciate you all. I’m Deborah, a Ryerson University alum, incoming Technology Analyst at Accenture and lover of code and UI/UX design. I’m so excited to share this unique product with you all and hope you can support us in our journey. I’m open to questions and feedback. Feel free to share your thoughts.
