Hey Product Hunt 👋 The idea for InsiderTape came from a frustrating realization - SEC Form 4 filings are completely public, updated daily, and one of the most underutilized data sources in retail investing. When a CEO buys $10M of their own stock days before earnings, that's meaningful. But finding it required manually digging through EDGAR, which almost nobody does. I wanted to build something that made that signal impossible to miss. The early version was just a screener. It would pull the filings, and show the trades. But the more I dug into the data, the more patterns emerged. Cluster buys (multiple insiders at the same company buying simultaneously) turned out to be a particularly strong signal. So did proximity to earnings, insiders buying in the 2-3 weeks before a confirmed earnings date show up consistently in the data. That led to the full signal suite: cluster detection, pre-earnings proximity scanning, exit warnings based on actual 52-week price positioning, conviction scoring that ranks every insider by their historical track record, and a live monitor that pulls it all together. The goal throughout was to build something a serious investor would actually trust - accurate data, honest labels (we distinguish confirmed earnings dates from estimates), and no noise.
