This is very old, but a great website! It might inspire a few of us to start an ikea weekend project 😎 🔨

@gregoiregilbert yeah it seemed pretty old but wasn't posted before. I heard about it on NPR (yeah really early adopter :-P) and then looked it up. I like IKEA products (the instructions are terrible though) but after hearing about the Hacks, realized that because they standardize all their parts, a creative mind could create products completely outside the context of the original instruction set. I like unintended creativity. :-)
@gregoiregilbert Yep. I am heading to IKEA this weekend! Perfect timing to browse through this site.

I've built several IKEA hacks after consulting this site, the content here is gold.
Funfact: They were recently hit with a cease & desist order from IKEA so had to bring the site down for a bit, but the community rallied and IKEA dropped the C&D.
There's an idea called "ikea effect" which implies that we value things which we contracted completely or to certain extent. And I like the movement of Ikea hackers. Woodiesdiy.tv https://woodiesdiy.tv/ does something like this.
Have a question about IKEA Hackers? Ask it here and get a real answer.
Do you use IKEA Hackers?
