M. Tamra Chandler, CEO of the strategic HR consultancy Peoplefirm, weaves her practical experience with the latest academic research findings. The traditional performance management has so many flaws, discourages people and misleads talent that it can be understood to be completely broken. For me, this book was an eye-opener as it confirms my gut feelings which I weren't able verbalizing - up to now. What I dislike a bit is that the book explains the process in detail needed to do a "Performance Management Reboot", i.e. a change process. This exactly is the process Chandler's company offers to customers. Nevertheless it's a good read, especially if you want to explain what's wrong with traditional performance management.
