Hospet is a tool designed to help empower owners by providing clear guidance for their pet’s care through the use of simple, powerful tools.

Hi everyone, I’m Mike Hodge, a software engineer and companion animal doula.
My wife, a palliative care veterinarian, and I built Hospet to help pet owners through one of the hardest journeys — the final chapter of their pet’s life.
After supporting many families through end-of-life care, we saw how much people struggled with doubt, tracking changes, and knowing when it was time. Hospet is my way of offering a little clarity, compassion, and peace during that process, as well as simplifying the process of coordinating care with your veterinarian and other members of your support team.
After supporting many families through end-of-life care, we saw how often people struggled with uncertainty, tracking changes, and knowing when it was time. Hospet is our way of offering a little clarity, compassion, and peace during that process, while also simplifying the coordination of care with your veterinarian and other members of your support team.
Hospet offers the following features designed to help support owners and their pets:
Quality of Life Consultations – Get a clearer picture of your pet’s comfort, behavior, and daily function with guided assessments that help quantify your pet's quality of life across seven different categories
Daily Ratings – Easily log how your pet is doing each day across customizable categories like pain, mobility, and mood. It’s designed to be quick to use, while giving you powerful insights over time.
Event Tracking – Track meaningful moments like symptoms, routines, and special behaviors with over 95+ pre-defined event types — each carefully curated by my wife (a veterinarian) to ensure the data is both clinically helpful and easy to log.
Planning and Care Tools – Set goals, track bucket list items, and record your pet’s signature traits — the little things that make them them — so their care always reflects who they truly are.
If you’ve ever cared for a senior pet, or supported someone who has, I’d love to hear your feedback and to answer any questions you have. I appreciate you all.
Sincerely,
Mike Hodge
